Stroud Property Scene
Stroud is unique. An 18th and 19th century former milling town,
it’s surrounded by five beautiful valleys including the Slad valley where
writer Laurie Lee lived and wrote Cider with Rosie.
The town is now experiencing a small renaissance with a new cinema, a canal
development plan and the nationally famous Farmers’ Market every Saturday. Since
the 1960s Stroud has been known for its bohemian character with a thriving
artistic and alternative living community.
It is the mixture of industrial and rural heritage that helps to give Stroud its
special character. Many of the former mills have been converted into stylish
residential properties offering one, two and three bedroom flats to let and
rent. Surrounding villages and towns like Minchinhampton, Nailsworth,
Painswick, Chalford and Bisley offer country homes of all
shapes and sizes and the new development in Ebley offers all sorts of
residential letting opportunities from one bedroom flats to rent to 4 bedroom
houses to let.
